Voltz has an eCash mint, using the Nutshell implementation. The eCash provides the privacy that custodial Lightning Network cannot offer. The protocol uses blind signatures to offer such privacy. To access this service, it is necessary to use third-party wallets to transact with Voltz's mint. All the eCash is collateralized 1:1 in bitcoin. The eCash is issued and burned. Voltz Mint does not perform fractional reserve of funds.

Custody of Funds

The eCash is also a custodial option but offers total privacy. The eCash notes are issued and validated by the mint but are stored on the client's side in their respective wallet. Voltz disclaims responsibility for the user's eCash funds.
